Hello Everybody!!! How are you?
After a lot of thinking, I decided to go blonde! A serious decision for an asian to go blonde, but I wanted to take a risk. Plus, being blonde looks fun :)
A few female, kpop idols and Xiaxue inspired me to go blonde ^_^

BTW, I did loads of research before the commitment! Bleaching once will not work if you have dark hair, you'll need to bleach at least twice or more depending how thick and dark your hair is.
Bleach is very, very damaging for the hair, so think twice!
To start off, here's how my hair looked before bleaching:
I put on so much weight during the summer >__< ORZ |
My hair has already been dyed 4 months before, it's such an ugly colour, I have no idea why I kept it?! >___<
My roots are already showing so chances are they will bleach lighter because it's closer to my head (duh).
Okay so before we start, you will need:
- Plastic/ceramic mixing bowl
- Tinting brush
- Disposable Gloves
- Vaseline (to protect skin around the hair line, important for the ears!)
- Old T-shirt or Towel (of course you need a towel to dry your hair -_-)
- Shower Cap *optional*
And now for the products!:
Creme Peroxide 30 Vol (£4.16 - Sally) |
Ion Blue Powder Bleach Sacht x2 (£1.91 each - Sally) |
BTW, Sally is one of the best stores I've been too, I was so lost on what to buy LOL. Luckily, the sales lady helped me a lot and she recommened me the best! ^_^ She also hinted to me that the brand of bleach doesn't matter - it's the peroxide that's important.
Furthermore the most important to have when bleaching your hair for the first time - always have someone to help you! They'll need to help you get the parts you can't see and will most likely do this evenly. Ask a relative or friend who had some experience!
My assistant today is my friend, Watie ^0^ .
FYI, make sure you don't shampoo your hair before bleaching - this will strip away your natural oil and will make the hair more dryer. So best not to wash for more than 2 days! (P.S, it's a really hard and you feel smelly, but it's for your hair!) It's ok to condtion your hair though if it's pretty dry.
.....
Time for the bleaching, Watie was complaining that the mix smelled so bad, literally a chroline smell >_____<
Whilst she was doing my hair, it turned out we needed to use both the sachts to do my whole head, one turn.
Poo poo chroline bleach smelled so bad >___< Watie sneezed at the smell xD
However, I admit it did sort of a good job:
First round of Bleaching. 60 mins. |
Watie accidently missed most of my roots LOL. But you can clearly see the ginger parts are my previously dyed hair. This is to be expected.
Since we have no more powdered bleach, we quickly went to the supermarket to buy some. Sadly no powder bleach </3
However, we did stumble across Garnier:
Nutrisee Creme Pre-Lightner (£5.47 -Asda) |
We went ahead and tried it once we got back. The bottle was endless O___O; Watie arms started to hurt halfway xD
I am impressed by the fact it lightened my black roots into a golden colour, except not much improvement to my ginger parts.
Pro:voke Touch of Silver Shampoo (£3.09 - Boots) |
So.... purple @___@ |
Drying my hair was a hassle, the ends kept being tangled up lol.
I have to admit, I didn't see much difference before I toned, I expected it to stay purple when I applied it. It did however lighten up my roots part, making them appear whiter while the ginger stayed.
And the bleaching journey ends, so now what?
Extra, Extra treatment for my hair for 2 weeks whilst using Fudge's purple shampoo. Once it's better, I shall dye it again so it looks even.
This is what I am using:

Second round of bleaching w/ purple shampoo. |
P.S REON you are bad at taking photos Px |
Covering my face because all my makeup has been wiped off from my sweat, curse you heat wave! D; The camera makes it look lighter than it actually is. |

Tresemme Treatment Masqe: Protect (£2.45 - Superdrug 'Special offer') |
It is most ideal to look for a Masqe that aims to protect & repair hair, it will make it stronger and less likely to break.
I've been using L'oreal Paris: Elvive Extraorinary Oil, and it is by far the best serum I have used! It's so lightweight and non greasy, but it still makes your hair feels healthy and looks shiny! Thank you Shu An!!!
.....
I realized I have a very busy schedule this week TT___TT
I don't want to risk going out with ginger/yellow/white hair!
So I tried this shampoo:
When you apply this it stained my hands, meaning the shampoo will stay purple on the hair!
I don't want to risk going out with ginger/yellow/white hair!
Fudge Violet Toning Shampoo (£11.45 - Julia) |
And guess what happened....
And the ginger parts are still there! >___<
I was thinking why it was sooo... white. White parts kept being tangled TT_TT
Until I remembered:
When I was waiting for the bleach to develop - I sat right next to the window where the sun shone on my hair.
That explains so much OTL.
Note to self: stay away from sunlight when bleaching.
I'm going to try this dye:
The lighter parts became white ORZ |

Garnier: Nutrisse Ultra Color: 10.1 Ice Blonde (£5.67 - Asda) Hopefully, this will get rid of the ginger and even out my hair. |
Despite the fact I've been dying my hair for the past 5 years, it is my first time using a light colour.
I'm currently doing the patch test AKA The skin allegry test.
This is seriously important! I've read loads of people who had dyed their hair for years has never done the patch test, until one day - their faces ended up bloating up, swelling or even scarring! (Honestly, if you look it up, it's so scary! This can literally happen to anyone!).
I would highly, highly advise everyone that's dying their hair to do the patch test alway!
Especially if this is your first time! Do the patch test! Do not ignore the warnings!
Remember, if you notice any abnormal reaction, such as itching, redness or swelling around the test area, Don't use the product.

It might have evened out my blonde part, but the ginger is still there (It might not look like it because of the lighting).
Only solution? Toner.
But for now I shall leave my hair to rest with plenty of condtioner, serum and masqe. Or maybe the purple shampoo will tone it out? Who knows.
I will review the toner in a months time.
So in conclusion? Always be prepared and don't expect it to always go as planned. Going blonde takes loads of time and patience to get it into the colour you want.
On the other hand, if anyone knows how to get rid of the ginger/brass quickly, please tell me :)
Peace out! xxx
