It was worth the risk...

I am happy to announce I am a proud owner of a pixie crop!

Personally, I think my right side has been cut a bit to short, but it'll grow out.

TBH, this was actually a last minute decision!

I'm going to write a quick review in this place. But first, a bit of my hair history:

Usually, I always have my hair done in China Town - mainly because my mum & dad always says that since the hairdressers are asian too - they know the quality of our hair more

But, whenever I have my hair cut there - I was NEVER content or happy. Most of the time - they would cut too much layers into my hair (looking thinner) or mess up my fringe, therefore making my face look really bloated and I end up having to fix it at home. Ok, I'm going to show some photos of my hair:

This was my hair before I asked her to trim my hair.

I asked her to trim my hair... and I realized she started cutting... loads. She explained to me she was an expert so I trusted (not going to lie, she was a really, really nice and funny... but the cut I wanted....). But this is how it ended up:

Lovely picture with my friends @ Vogue festival.
Yes, that's ME AT THE FAR RIGHT. The total cut was £32!

I was trying to convince myself it wasn't as bad as it looks ... and that it'll grow out >___<

But nope - after 2 months, I got sick of it and chopped it off into a bob:
I tied my hair into a pony tail with an elastic band then I used scissors to chop it off. It felt good.

My hair now was shoulder length - I ended up getting a lot of compliments from my class mates saying the bob suited me more xD.

It was then I looked into the mirror that my hair would easily go flat - therefore making my face appear too long. Also the cut was really bad so it was hard to style.

So this is when the last minute decision came into my mind. Because I wanted to bleach my hair and dye it silver, I thought "why not go for a pixie crop?".

Thus I began my research and looked at these ladies. I put a lot of thought into shoosing my images to show the hairdresser, I made sure their hair and face shape were similer to mine (flat, completely straight, round oval face etc).

So first, I looked at women with short, dark hair:

Ga-in from BEG.

Frankie Stanford from The Saturdays. Her haircut is pretty much her iconic image and I remember back in secondary school that loads of girls had a haircut similar to hers.

Nicole from KARA.

Next, I looked up women with short, blonde hair:

Jennifer Lawrence

Michelle Williams

Sunny from SNSD

Ashlee Simpson
The photos I took with me to show the hairdressers are Frankie Stanford, Michelle Williams & Sunny.

Ok now time to review my experience on the place itself!

The hairdressers I went to last minute is call Snip 'N' Shape.

I was quite nervous because it was my first time going to a hairdressers outside of China Town. I arrived at my appointed time and while I wait - they washed my hair and left it in a hair mask for 15 mins. The staff there was really friendly - I feel bad for not asking the lady name TT___TT

But she was extremely nice! She would alway ask if the water was too hot or not, or asked if I wanted a cup of tea!

Yeah free tea xD

But yes, the same lady who washed my hair, was also the the one that will cut my hair. She asked me what I wanted and I told her I wanted a pixie crop and showed her my chosen images.

She was quite surprised and asked me if I was sure. I said yes, I wanted to get it cut and she agreed to do it. It was quite funny because she was joking a bit like "you sure?" and I went "just do it!" xD
We also had a nice conversation, she also checked the picture I had to make sure it matched and she was careful to not cut my fringe so much! She also compliemented that my hair was really healthy.

So after she finished cutting, she blow dried my hair and styled it. I literally had a big smile on my face. It was excatly as I wanted! It was a shame that my fringe was still short but the back of my hair - it felt good to run my fingers through xD.

In total - for a wash/cut/blowdry (on meduim hair), it costed me £27! I was extremely happy so I tipped her £3.

SO yep! I'm pretty glad I made the decision! It was worth the risk!
