So...
I dyed my hair!
I sort of miss my silver hair... but ehh at the same time was desperate to be a red head because they look sooooooo cute >_<
Originally I was going to avoid using box dyes but was at my budget so what the hell.
I have been red before when I was around 14. However, because I had no clue how to hair care back then, my one-day-red hair would turn brown :|
So I prepared myself with colour care shampoos (non sulphate) and a toner for when it's washed out.
The product I used was Schwarzkopf LIVE Color XXL Luminace L38 Radiant Red:
The product itself claims to lighten dark hair into the desired hair colour....
Which is bullshit.
You want bright hair? Gonna need to lighten that shizz.
Before I dyed my hair, I prelightened my hair (avoiding the silver hair) with 75ml of 30 vol Peroxide + 25g of Blue Powder Bleach. After 30 mins, my hair turned orange.
Applied the dye onto my hair, left it on for 30mins and here are the results:
A reminder to never ever use their provided conditoner. Turned my hair.... into a crusty feel? Obvs will revert back to my usual conditoner.
It's not clear in the photos but the back of my hair is more of a blood red compared to the front, the dye turned my silver hair into a more pink hue compared to the rest?
I was hopeing to have a Mikoshiba hair colour but instead I ended up with a Matsuoka?
The Mikoshiba |
The Matsuoka |
Although I'm not really complaining... I almost like this mistake LOL.
Overall vedict:
Overall application was easy. However, if used on bleach hair (orange), it'll give off a pink hue. Hardly any ... like... blood red?
I suggest you all check out Nicoletta's review and see what you think?
Although next time, I think I'll try their other products (like scandalous scarlet or real red) if I want to stay red.. or go for a more deeper. IDK we'll see.
P.S I purchased SuperDrug's Colour Effects 6:45 Burgundy Red to apply to my hair for when the colour fades, I'll review in a few weeks time.
